Report: Twins looking to add starting pitching

According to my sources, the Twins are looking to make a splash during the Winter Meetings by adding some big name starting pitchers.

In addition, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports is reporting the Twins and free agent RHP Bronson Arroyo are talking about a deal and the talks are “gaining momentum.”

Arroyo, 36, went 14-12 with a 3.79 ERA with the Reds in 2013. He’s thrown for 200+ innings in eight of his last nine seasons, narrowly missing the mark in 2011 with 199.0 innings.

The Twins struggled with starting pitching in 2013. Twins starting pitchers had the worst ERA in baseball last season at 5.26. RHP Kevin Correia led the Twins in wins last season with nine.
